DVA Services

We’re proud to be a DVA provider, supporting veterans and the Australian Defence community with physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and occupational therapy. With a valid GP referral, eligible Gold and White card holders can access our full range of services at no out-of-pocket cost. We understand the unique health challenges facing veterans and deliver respectful, high-quality care focused on recovery, function, and long-term wellbeing.

DVA Eligibility

No out-of-pocket cost for eligible DVA clients with a valid referral. We accept Gold Card holders (all conditions covered) and White Card holders (accepted conditions covered). Your GP will need to provide a D904 referral form specifying the allied health service required.

Our Commitment

Supporting Veterans’ Health

Veterans often face complex, long-term health challenges — from musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain to the effects of ageing and service-related conditions. Our clinicians deliver respectful, evidence-based care that helps you manage injuries, improve your physical function, and maintain an active, independent lifestyle. We work collaboratively with your GP and other health providers to ensure well-coordinated care.

DVA Services Available:

  • Musculoskeletal injury management
  • Chronic pain treatment
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Exercise programs for strength and fitness
  • Falls prevention and balance training
  • Home assessments and modifications
  • Assistive technology and equipment

Our DVA Services

All three of our disciplines are available under DVA funding, and we can coordinate multidisciplinary care if your needs span more than one area.

Physiotherapy

Hands-on treatment for musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, and mobility issues. Our physios use manual therapy, exercise prescription, and rehabilitation techniques to help you move better and manage pain more effectively.

Exercise Physiology

Structured, individualised exercise programs to improve cardiovascular health, strength, balance, and overall fitness. Our EPs design programs that account for your injuries, service history, and long-term health goals — helping you stay active and resilient.

Occupational Therapy

Functional capacity assessments, home safety assessments, assistive technology prescriptions, and daily living support. Our OTs help you maintain independence at home and in your community, with practical solutions tailored to your environment and needs.

Getting Started

How DVA Funding Works

Accessing our services through DVA is straightforward. Here’s the process from referral to treatment.

01

GP Referral

Visit your GP and request a referral for allied health services under your DVA card. Your GP will complete a D904 referral form specifying the service type and condition being treated. Gold card holders can be referred for any condition; White card holders for accepted conditions.

02

Book Your Appointment

Contact us with your referral and DVA card details. We’ll verify your eligibility, set up your file, and schedule your initial assessment at a time that suits you — at our clinic for physiotherapy and exercise physiology, or in your home for occupational therapy.

03

No Out-of-Pocket Cost

We bill DVA directly for all eligible services, so there are no upfront costs or claims to submit. You simply attend your appointments and focus on your recovery — we take care of the rest.

Common Questions

DVA FAQs

Do I need a referral?

Yes. A valid GP referral (D904 form) is required for DVA-funded allied health services. Your GP will specify the type of service and the condition being treated. If you need help getting a referral, contact us and we can guide you through the process.

What’s the difference between Gold and White cards?

A Gold Card covers treatment for all health conditions, whether or not they’re related to military service. A White Card covers treatment only for specific accepted conditions — those formally recognised by DVA as being related to your service. Both cards are accepted at Nexus Health Group.

Are there any out-of-pocket costs?

No. DVA covers the full cost of eligible services for approved clients with a valid referral. We bill DVA directly, so you don’t pay anything upfront and there are no claims to submit. Just bring your DVA card and referral to your appointment.

How many sessions can I have?

The number of sessions depends on your condition and what your GP has recommended. Standard DVA referrals typically cover an initial block of sessions, and can be renewed by your GP as needed. We’ll communicate with your GP about your progress and any ongoing treatment requirements to ensure continuity of care.
